Mr. Margerum, a Founding Director of American Riviera Bank, chairs the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Margerum is the owner of Margerum Wine Company and Barden Wines where he serves as Director of Winemaking. Additionally, he owned and operated the Wine Cask in Santa Barbara from 1981 to 2007. Wine Cask became one of 74 restaurants in the world to earn the Wine Spectator Grand Award. In 2009, Mr. Margerum became a partner in the re-opened Wine Cask. In 2017 Margerum sold his interest in Wine Cask once again. Mr. Margerum has worked for Chêne Bleu super Rhône wines in France and continues to consult for Paradise Springs Winery, La Encantada Vineyards, Happy Canyon Vineyards and Rancho Boa Vista. Margerum has aligned himself with several local charitable organizations such as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Direct Relief International, Lotusland and the Arthritis Foundation. As a friend and colleague of Julia Child’s during her time in Santa Barbara County, in 2016 Mr. Margerum was asked to be on the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History Kitchen Cabinet, a board made up of leaders in the food and wine industry. Mr. Margerum is also on the advisory board for the Julia Child Foundation.
